Literature Text

As the weekend nears,
I look forward to seeing you,
To seeing your smiling face.
I pass the time as fast as I can,
Hoping you'll be waiting for me
At our special meeting place.

Monday, Tuesday, all to Friday,
I try to endure long hours
of life without you near,
And once the end of the week
finally rolls around for me,
Thoughts of you dance in my mind.

But... this weekend you do not show.
Heavy-hearted, I bite my lip,
Choke back a tear, and let out a sigh.
I know I'll see you soon enough,
But without you, life is cold.
Just for you, though, I'll still go on.

All I have now is to wait,
To wait for the next time we meet,
And on that day, I will be smiling,
Holding you close in warm embrace.
A tear will roll down my cheek,
and I'll know I'm complete.
Just a little poem I wrote up while thinking of a friend of mine online that I rarely see. I really like its message.
